Illustration / Design
Yoko Baumberger(a.k.a.Yoko Baum) is a Portland, Oregon-based freelance illustrator who specialized editorial, food and drink, nature and kids art work.

About me
Hi, my name is Yoko and I am a Japanese illustrator based in Oregon, US. After graduating art university with a BFA, I worked in the children's books industry for several years. Today (in 2023), I focus and enjoy surface and editorial works (greeting cards, spot illustrations, etc). When I'm not drawing, I enjoy cooking and baking for my sons, hiking in summer.
My strength
I am a positive, open-minded, flexible and dead-line-oriented person.
Style & Tools
My style is strong shapes with some textures for extra expression. Also I love to play and experiment with different styles to create the best solution for my clients wishes. I work digitally my go to tools are Procreate and Adobe Photoshop.
My next goal
Not limiting myself to linguistics, commission for a jigsaw puzzle, cook books/life-style magazine's spot illustrations, even more like covers, spreads and full pages. Those things sounds glamorous.
Testimonials
"Yoko made fantastically whimsical illustrations for a couple feature stories for us and knocked them out of the park. They really elevated the storytelling. She was a pleasure to work with, met very tight deadlines, and I look forward to working with her again." Brian McManus, Global Editorial Director, NMGnetwork "Yoko was fast, responsive, and good." Edward Behr, Publisher, Editor, The Art of Eating Magazine
