2025

As a freelance editorial illustrator focused on lifestyle and environmental themes—and as an Oregon local who loves nature, travel, and outdoor adventure—I was commissioned by 1859 Oregon’s Magazine to create a series of illustrations for their feature on overtourism in Oregon, exploring how increased tourism is affecting the state’s most iconic outdoor places.

The project included a full-page illustration showing Oregon as a shared space filled with people enjoying outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, and beachcombing—capturing both the joy and the strain of high visitation. I also created two spot illustrations: one with tourists photographing Multnomah Falls, and another featuring mountain bikers navigating wooded trails.

This assignment brought together my passion for narrative illustration, nature-focused storytelling, and editorial art that connects people to place.

Huge thanks to 1859 Oregon’s Magazine, art director Allison, and the team for this collaboration!
